I chose to tell my life’s journey and point of view on fashion today, through Dr. Seuss’s book “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”. The book reveals the unforeseen journey of an unnamed protagonist, who passes through difficulties and fears, with an optimistic and contained perspective.

 

Until the age of 20, I moved to different countries every two years, while collecting cultural experiences, impressive stories and quite a few difficulties. The professional term for such experiences is called Third Culture Kid. I used the visual elements that characterize the book as a guide to convey my present feelings and emotions. For me, it was essential to add my own artistic trademarks through hand printing techniques and handmade craftmanship.

 

Thus, all the textiles in the collection were sewn from white fabrics that I manually painted. The source of inspiration for my designs came from an

intuitive creative process and physical trials.

The aftermath of the Corona crisis made me believe that as a society and as designers, we are obligated to find smarter, better, and diverse solutions for current challenges.

 

I founded a social enterprise of reusable masks that could protect the wearer and the environment. I employed 11 employees and was able to reach hundreds of families, volunteers, and the elderly. I feel like my project evolved with the reality that was forces upon us.
