Karin karoutchi  //  A journey

In my final project, I chose to engage my family on the part of my father, the karoutchi family .I grew up on a very strong Moroccan culture at home and it was always important for me to understand where it all began. I first researched about the family culture about my. In the course of

my research, I found a family wedding agreement from 1905 from Expulsion from Spain .At this moment, it was a turning point for me and I knew I wanted to explore the whole story behind my last name.During the study with the help of family members and Beth Hatefutsoth, I found the

source of the karoutchi surname. It originated in a small town in Italy called Caro, where they built the first wagons .During the course of the research, I realized that much of the Moroccan tradition includes a range of Spanish and Italian customs, textiles and even the "great dress" identified with

the Jewish people who lived in Morocco as the wedding dress and is now used as a traditional costume also came from Spain .In my collection I want to take the different embroidery, from Italy, Spain and Morocco and make them one piece that will really express who I am today - the combination of the three. I used jeans because it reflects on me today – urban. I have been

inspired by my family's dressed over the years .The collection appeals to the female audience and incorporates ready-to-wear and conceptual items.
