Puberty is accompanied by many challenges. This "monster" invades one’s body and changes it; body proportions, acne, hormones, and other traits that are considered to be embarrassing and ugly. During a time when you want to fit in so badly, you feel awkward.

Shir’s collection for teenage girls responds to the struggles of growing pains which are rarely addressed in today’s fashion. Adolescents are left unrecognized on the seam between adults and children. Through the use of cynical humor, this collection makes changes caused by puberty appear to be desirable instead of unbearable. Like in nature, blossoming is when the beauty of the plant reaches its climax: the fruit is produced.

Shir compares the aesthetic of the growth period, that is human puberty, to the climactic liveliness of blossoming. The collection incorporates textures of fruits reminiscent of phenomena and indicators of puberty.
